Meta’s own instant messaging platform WhatsApp is intending to expand its multi-device feature. The company is expected to allow its users to use a single WhatsApp account on multiple smartphones. The same update was spotted in the most recent Android beta version of WhatsApp by WaBetaInfo. According to the screenshots, the company is going to name the new feature a “companion” device.Users will need to first “register a device as a companion to use this feature.” Following this, the tech giant is going to let users access a single account on another smartphone by scanning a QR code utilizing their first smartphone. Currently, WhatsApp is offering this same multi-device feature. However, it only permits people to utilize the application on desktops and not on smartphones.According to reports, the company is still working on this feature. And we don’t have any official information about when the company is going to roll out this feature to the stable version of the platform. First of all, users will have to link their smartphones to WhatsApp accounts on other devices.
